About Me

Olena Miso was born in 1991 in a musical family in Ukraine. She studied piano at the Kruschelnytska Special Music School for Gifted Children in Lviv and at the Tchaikovsky State Academy of Music in Kyiv. In 2014, she completed her master’s degree with honors. In 2015 she moved Austria to study at the University Music and performing Arts Graz in the class of Prof. Dr. Milana Chernyavska and Chamber music class with Prof. Chia Chou.

She received important musical impulses at master classes with renowned professors, including Andrej Jasinski, Tatiana Shebanova, Irina Rumjanceva, Mikhail Voskresenskij, Vadim Rudenko, Kevin Kenner, Oxana Yablonskaya, Grigory Gruzman, Sofja Gulyak.

Olena is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions. She achieved 1st prizes at the “Isidor Bajic piano memorial competition”, at the “International Competition Giovani Musicisti – Citta di Treviso”, at the “XIII International Piano Competition Lia Tortora”, at the “V International Piano Competition Gran Piano Ciudad de Alcala” and at the “V International Piano Competition ClaMo” (followed by concerts as soloist with orchestra in the season 2019 and 2020). In 2018 she received the gold medal at the “Martha Debelli Scholarship Competition”, the “Gifted” Scholarship of the Graz City, as well as a scholarship from the “Clavarte Foundation in Berlin”.

In addition to her solo career, Olena devotes herself with great dedication to chamber music. She has also performed at numerous events, including the International Chamber Music Festival “Colluvio” in Styria, the Music Festival “Lent 2020” in Maribor, the International Music Festival “MozArt”, the Neuburg Culture Days, “Musikalischer Aperitif” at Stefaniensaal in Graz, as well as concerts in Austria, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Ukraine. In September 2018, Olena Miso, together with cellist Anna Isabel Chan Flores, undertook a concert tour to México and China. She and her piano trio “SoloWay” were also rewarded with several recording sessions at KUG as well as recordings for ORF. Recently the trio “SoloWay” was heard on “Radio Klassik” with recordings of Franz Schubert and Anton Arensky.

Since 2021 Olena has been working as a senior lecturer at the Kunstuniversität Graz.
